Last article describing our 4th day of Boooksprint in Carnac.
Following Christophe's intervention to get us back on track, it is with positive energy that the Boooksquetaires team is starting this new day with one goal in mind: the delivery of PI #2! 🙂

Objective of the day
The start of the day is meant to be energetic even if you feel the fatigue of the previous 3 days. Still with Grégory at a distance, we are planning our home stretch! An incompressible deadline sets the tone for us:
No drift possible because the taxi picks us up at 6:00 p.m. to take us to the train – which won't be waiting for us! 😉
Jokes aside, we each know what we have to do:
- Grégory continues on the module Culture Product : its challenge is to reduce the volume of its content while maintaining its impact, not easy!
- Julien goes back to the module Engineering Excellence, inspired by the many exchanges of the day before!
- Arnaud enthusiastically resumes the module Agile Management with the plan built by Christophe
- For my part, I'm going to re-arrange my content on the Personal Mastery with the direction given by Christophe also
- Christophe continues him on the module of Agile culture and ensures the overall consistency of the book: you have to prepare for the evening landing!
11.00 – First update of the day
The technical difficulties begin and we are forced to dub the video hangout with the phone directly. The distributed mode of operation holds up but we still feel the heaviness generated by the distance and the weight of the associated tools.
Everyone seems pretty well launched in their part, the energy is good and we each leave fairly quickly on our side.
Julien decided to start from a blank page to further develop the rocket metaphor on the Engineering Excellence module. It makes more sense to him and the inspiration is back.
Arnaud, valiantly continues with Christophe's plan to structure his game. The rhythm seems to suit him better and his effort is mainly to find a logical sequence of the different elements of content.
But is this the blank page complex for Christophe? 😛 Certainly not! He has done proofreading (especially of the Product Culture part to be able to help Grégory as much as possible) and is now embarking on the Agile Culture part!
For my part, my content being already ready, I am slowly finalizing my structure for proofreading. Of course, I keep an eye on the schedules to properly fulfill my role as timekeeper – for the pleasure of my boooksquetaire acolytes! 😛
Note: We see that the dynamic of this day is very different from the previous one. Indeed, we work much more individually and the synchronization points allow us to keep in touch with the collective for the final delivery.
13.00 – Focus
After a rather quick synchronization point again, everyone focuses on their part while the meal cooks quietly in the oven! 🙂
Julien still has some difficulties on his part because of his lack of experience on the subject. He continues to work on the dining table before putting on his chef's cap: this allows him to be able to discuss with us and feed his thinking!
The meal finished, we could only make the same observation: we only had one sprint left before the retro final! 😀
The last straight line
The last sprint had a little bit of the color of the delivery of the first PI: a lot of proofreading to finalize the delivery! Don't ask me why I put myself in this position to read again, the adrenaline of the moment must have gone to my head! 😛
Until 5:00 p.m. rang in the house: it was the end, it was time to take stock of our adventure before releasing Christophe from our presence!
Balance sheet
You can feel a mixture of satisfaction and frustration on the faces. Indeed, some of us are not satisfied with what they have produced and would have liked to do more. It is the challenge of the booksprint to know how to end with dissatisfaction! However, after positioning the last Post-its on the rocket, we still had the pride of having produced 130 pages in 4 days when we only had 50 pages in mind at the start!
I personally remember this mixed feeling between relief and sadness at that moment:
- Relief to have finished because tired: it was all the same a period of 4 intense days of focused work! But happy to have gone all the way and to have reached our goal!
- Sadness because the adventure ends, a bit like when you have to come back from vacation! 😛
Back to reality
Again at 3 on the return train with Arnaud and Julien with the intention of overcoming this frustration of not having been able to do better on our productions. But it is as we move away from Auray station that frustration gives way to fatigue and relaxation: the boooksprint is over and tomorrow will be a daily return to our respective missions. !
Conclusion
The Boooksprint adventure was an exceptional human experience for me. I was able to regain a taste for teamwork, in the space of 4 days, where I could feel theunity in difficulty, there celebration in success and or nothing is really a problem. The difficulty of the separation showed me the strength of the bond that I had woven with these people who had become for me much more than just colleagues.
Thank you for this unforgettable experience lived by your side! 🙂
