Facilit'ON: National launch (Paris)

This Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. took place the national launch of the community Facilit'ON. Indeed, in collaboration with Viviane Morelle, Isabelle Duchamp, Caroline Roussel, Marina Turpin-IgnatovaSophie Ambrosino and sasha lopez, this event could be realized in quadruplex in Nantes, Toulouse, Sophia Antipolis and Paris. I had the pleasure of co-facilitating the Paris group with Luc Bizeul who welcomed us to the premises ofAgile Tribe ! Here is a return on this furiously collaborative event from the point of view of Paris! 😉

The program

Ice Breaker: constellations

faciliton_constellations

We chose the Constellation Game in Ice Breaker. The principle is simple: the facilitator asks questions to the group and each participant answers them by positioning themselves physically in the space of the room.

To put everyone on the same footing, we arbitrarily defined where North, South, East and West were and then asked the following questions in successive rounds:

What is your city of birth?

What city would you like to live in?

Where did you spend your last vacation ?

Each lap was then an opportunity to get to know the members of the newly formed group and finally put names to faces! 😉

World Cafe

World Cafe

The first step was to do a giant brainstorming with all the participants. The problem is to bring out the subjects they would like to talk about in future community meetups. As agreed, we were inspired by the format World Cafe.

Unlike the real World Café, each group discussed the same issue:

What topics would you like to discuss at our next meetings?

At regular intervals, the participants changed tables: we speak of pollination. A fixed ambassador was designated and had the role of summarizing the previous exchanges to newcomers who in turn supplemented with new ideas.

In our case, we performed 2 iterations of 15 minutes – which seemed sufficient given the number of elements that could be registered and added. We had 5 tables in parallel of about 5-6 people.

Sorting topics

After the boiling of ideas emerged from the World Café, we moved on to a sorting stage.

The ambassadors took turns presenting the elements discussed at their table. This allowed us to have a global vision of all the subjects and to carry out a direct sorting: identification of duplicates, grouping of similar ideas. I was particularly impressed by the quality and efficiency of the presentations! Cheer ! 🙂

After rearranging the elements a bit, here is what we got (photo taken afterwards):

Prioritization of topics

faciliton_priorisation

The objective of the session was to define the TOP 5 topics which, with a meetup every 2 months, would cover the whole year.

After some discussions with the group, we decided to opt for the following prioritization system:

  • Each topic/grouping of ideas got a number
  • Each participant had to choose their 3 favorite subjects (probably the most difficult step! ;-))
  • We do the count on a separate medium (we could hear "Voted!" in the distance:-D)
  • The TOP 5 then corresponds to the 5 subjects having received the most votes

The community

While the votes were taking place and to prepare the last phase of this national launch, we came back to the vision of the Facilit'ON community.

First of all, you should know that the idea of the community emerged following the meeting of Sophie Ambrosino, Piet le Clercq, Nicholas Verdot, Adela Cosijn, Marina Turpin and Viviane Morelle during a facilitation training. The power of this approach made them want to believe in and collectively carry out this project that they have experienced since April 2015 in Sophia Antipolis.

The main ideas are:

  • The objective is to promote facilitation in all its forms
  • The community has no commercial vocation, it promotes exchange and sharing
  • The community exists only for its members and by its members. As a result, it is co-developed and the evenings are co-organized.

This last point allowed us to move on to the Next Steps for Facilit'ON Paris.

NextSteps

In this last phase of evening animation, we wanted to launch the dynamic for the future and organize future meetings from the TOP 5 of the selected subjects. For that, we needed members and places. Time being short for us, we have given priority to the first subject.

Here is the result :

The next event will therefore be organized by Emmanuelle, Florence, Charline, Alexandra, Benjamin and myself at the premises of Goood! on the Subject #1: Facilitator Survival Kit, date yet to be determined.

Celebration

As the saying goes: "After the effort, the comfort!" », and it is a well-deserved comfort that we all shared together, in a good mood! 😉

I would like to thank all the participants for their contribution to this event which, thanks to them, was a real success! 🙂
